White-Label Web Development Partner: How It Works

How white-label and reseller web development partnerships work for agencies: models, pricing, account ownership, quality checks and our reseller option.

By the Tuncer Technologies team ·

Agencies, marketing consultants and freelance designers often reach the same point: clients ask for websites, apps or technical fixes that the team cannot deliver itself, or not fast enough. Turning the work down loses the client. Hiring for every new skill is slow and risky. A development partner fills the gap.

This guide explains how white-label and reseller partnerships work, the models you will see, what to check before you hand a client to someone else, and how our own reseller option works.

White-label, reseller or referral: the difference

These words are often mixed up, so it helps to separate them:

  • White-label: the partner builds the work and your agency presents it to the client as your own. The client may never talk to the partner.
  • Reseller: you buy the service for your client and set your own price to the client. The partner delivers the service, often directly to the client contact you name.
  • Referral: you introduce the client, who buys directly from the partner. You are not the buyer and you do not handle the client's payment.

Each model suits different agencies. The key questions are who the client talks to, who holds the contract, and who is responsible when something goes wrong.

Common pricing models

  1. Fixed-price items. A defined scope at a published price, such as a 5-page website or an email setup. Easy to quote to your client and easy to compare.
  2. Hourly development. For fixes, changes and work that is hard to scope in advance. Ask for estimates before work starts.
  3. Monthly retainer. A set number of development hours each month for ongoing work across several clients.
  4. Project quote after discovery. For custom apps and larger builds, a short paid discovery produces the scope and estimate.

Fixed prices make your own quoting simpler, because you know exactly what you are buying before you promise anything to the client.

What to check before you choose a partner

Scope in writing

Every job should have a written scope: pages, features, revisions, what the client supplies, and what is excluded. Vague scopes are where deadlines slip and client relationships suffer.

Account ownership

The client's domain, hosting, app store accounts and payment accounts should be in the client's name, not the partner's and ideally not yours. It protects everyone if the relationship changes.

Communication

Agree who talks to the client, about what, and how fast. Ask how handover works at the end: what the client receives, and in what form.

Quality and testing

Ask to see live work, not only mockups. Check the partner's testing process, speed on mobile, and how bugs found after launch are handled.

Payment terms

Know when you pay the partner and when your client pays you, so you are never funding a project out of your own pocket for weeks.

Confidentiality and data

Client data, logins and business details need careful handling. Credentials should be shared securely, never in a plain form or chat message.

Licensing

For ready-made software, check what licence the client receives. Business-use licences are common; exclusive source code is usually a separate, more expensive agreement.

How our reseller option works (Tuncer Technologies)

Our store is built so a partner can buy for a client in a few steps:

  1. Join the free partner program at partners.tuncertech.com to get your partner code.
  2. Add the items to the cart in our store. Every item has a published scope, limits and delivery time.
  3. At checkout, enter your partner code with the email of your partner account and choose "For a client (reseller)". Enter your client's name, business name and email.
  4. Partners pay 20% less on one-time items, whether for their own business or for a client. On a few items the partner discount is limited, and the checkout shows the exact amount. Discounts never stack (partner price, package price, Founding Client or weekend offers): the single lowest price applies.
  5. You are the buyer of record and receive the receipt. You set your own price and collect your client's payment yourself.
  6. We deliver the service to your client and hand over by email, with a short summary of what was done.

Partner purchases earn no commission; the partner price is the benefit. Because we deliver to the client contact you name, this is a reseller arrangement rather than a fully invisible back office. If you have specific requirements about client communication, contact us before you order.

Useful items for agencies

FAQ

What is a white-label web development partner?

A development team that builds websites or apps for your clients so your agency can offer more services without hiring for every skill. In a strict white-label model the partner stays behind your brand; in a reseller model the partner delivers to the client you name.

Do you work as an invisible back office?

Our standard option is a reseller purchase: you buy and set your own price, and we deliver the service to your client. Contact us before ordering if you need a different communication setup.

How much do partners pay?

Partners pay 20% less on one-time items, with a limit on a few items. The checkout shows the exact price before you pay.

Who owns the client's domain and accounts?

The client. Domains in our packages are registered in the client's name, and app store and payment accounts are opened in the client's name.

Can I resell monthly plans?

The partner price applies to one-time items. Monthly care and maintenance plans are charged at the normal price.

Is there a fee to join?

No. The partner program is free to join.
